The Main Structure and Operation Process of Slag Dryer

Slag Dryer

Slag dryer is widely used in building materials industry, metallurgy industry, mineral processing industry, chemical industry, cement industry and other sectors, which can be used for drying slag, carbide slag, limestone, clay, sand, quartz sand, water slag and other materials.

Slag dryer is a kind of rotary dryer, which is mainly composed of a rotating cylinder, fan device, high-speed breaking equipment, lifting plate, self-cleaning device, transmission device, conveying equipment, air equipment, reducer, supporting device, sealing device and other components. Slag drying machine has reasonable design, sophisticated production process, stable performance, advanced technology, high yield, low energy consumption, small occupied area and high degree of mechanization.

The Operation Process of Slag Dryer:

1. The slag is transported by the belt conveyor or bucket elevator into the hopper, and then put to the feeding end through the feeding pipe.

2. Rake angle of the feeding pipeline should be larger than the angle of natural material, so that materials can flow smoothly into the drying machine.

3. Its cylinder is a horizontal rotating cylinder, which is slightly tilted. Materials are put into the cylinder from high end, while the heat carrier is from the low-end entry and then there is a countercurrent contact between materials and heat carrier. Finally, they flow into the cylinder together.

4. With the rotating of the cylinder, materials run to the lower end of the cylinder because of its gravity. Wet materials have directly or indirectly received heat from the heat carrier in the process of moving forward, so that wet materials can be dried quickly. Then finished materials will be discharged by the screw conveyor at the discharge end.

5. The inner side of the cylinder is equipped with a copy board, which is aimed at copying materials up and then scattering them. Therefore, the contact surface between airflow and the materials will be increased, which can improve the drying rate of materials.

6. The cyclone dust collector is needed to collect these materials when the heat carrier bypasses the dryer (heat carrier is generally divided into hot air, flue gas etc.). For further reduction of dust content in exhaust gas, the bag type dust remover or wet dust emissions should be installed before the release.
